Fruit Tree Training

Fruit tree pruning is our specialty! The proper time of year to prune fruit trees is in later winter (March/April) as trees are coming out of dormancy.

Proper fruit tree pruning encourages a healthy fruit crop and improves the structural integrity of branches that bear the heavy fruit. Epicormic growth (‘suckers’ or ‘water sprouts’) are removed to allow for light penetration and air flow throughout the canopy.

Our arborist can help you come up with a pruning schedule for your trees whether you have one tree or an entire orchard. Some of our clients have us maintain their trees annually, others we return every 3-5 years depending on budget and pruning goals.
